Intended, right.

But then people buy them to take to work and impress their buddies. Like they do with the "hummers".

Should they pass a law to protect your delicate sensibilities on this issue?

meh, I give a fvck what people do. I just tell it like it is.

Edit: I don't give a fvck rather.

Edit2: And wtf did that come from? delicate sensibilities?

I saw this at Detroit NAIAS when it was on TV a few weeks ago. They had some stereotypical midwesterner (6/5, 400lbs - fat not muscle) hanging off the side of it and he looked like an elf compared to this thing.
I dare anybody in my city to buy one. They wouldn't even be able to fit it in their driveway, let alone use it on the streets.

How what is? Trucks like these have been around for a long time. If you want to see one you have to go to the RV spots at a big state park, where grandpa's got a 50' 5th-wheel hitched up to one, roughin' it in the woods with his 50" plasma and satellite.

Chevrolet Kodiak C4500 pickup by MTE is as powerful as it is stylish, thanks to the Duramax 6600 V-8 turbodiesel. It delivers 300 horsepower (224 kw) at 3100 rpm and 605 lb.-ft. (820 Nm) of torque at a very low 1600 rpm and is mated to an Allison 1000 five-speed automatic transmission.

WTF are you assuming about me?!

I love trucks. I'd buy one if I had a need for one. But I don't, so I won't. There's no reason to. Just as there's no reason for someone to buy one of these fvcking things if they arn't going to be pulling a big fvcking trailor with a 50" plasma tv inside.

What I'm saying is that people are going to get these to keep up with the jones's. Which is a shame to what trucks are ment for (TCBing), and it shows the superficiality of our society.

I know the torque is far superior to mine, just thought something that ridiculously obese would have the hp to match it.

Exactly, it's a work truck, it's not supposed to look great or be a commuter. This is for hauling trailors and such.

HP = (torque * rpm) / 5252

It's a diesel with a 3500 rpm redline. It would be a mathematical impossibility for its HP to exceed its torque.

Do you have any clue what horsepower is?

Here's a hint buddy, the monstrously powerful engines of the world have extremely low HP ratings. Can you figure out why?

I'm not assuming anything. It just seems to me that you are making some very large assumptions about "our society."
