Please don't buy the 330ci!!! I seriously don't understand why people waste their money on these cars. They are a few thousand shy of a M3, so just get a M3...you won't regret it! The 330ci is crap compared to the M3 for a few thousand more, and far better than a GTO.

Not at all. I drove the V6 variety (rental car) recently, and HATED it.

Mustang V6 != Mustang GT....plus

5-spd manual >>>> (rental) 5-spd autotragic tranny....in the fun dept

But, good choice on the GTO, LS2 =

Did you get the 4-spd auto or the 6-spd manual?....please say the 6-spd...

How 'bout some pics!

The 6-speed, of course! And I'll get pics up at some point during the week (tomorrow, maybe). I'll just update the thread when I have them.

Also what was the final price. Are they still pretty tight with the new LS2 gto's or are they willing to deal like some other cars now?

I've owned BMWs and I've driven the GTO. I am not overly impressed either one quite frankly. The 330Ci is a really nice car with a great chassis and decent power, but it is expesive and expensive to repair. The GTO is a heavy brute of a car with lots of power but a mediocre chassis. The BMW is very refined and the GTO is totally unrefined. Two completely different cars.

Drive both and then choose. Don't go by what your neighbor says or what the morons here who've never driven either car tell you though.

Just out of curiousity, why not look at the Inifiniti G35 coupe?

I have read your review, and I've driven both the GTO and the 330Ci (and liked them both). From a gut feel standpoint, the GTO is more "me" than the BMW.

Just so I don't Syringer you all: I am buying the GTO (black w/black interior, 6-speed, with 18" chrome alloys). Today. I take delivery on it tomorrow..

Congrats! You should be able to work a great deal on that car right now with GMs employee discount for everyone deals.

An M3 is about $10k more than a 330ci. They don't presently make M3s, so you can't buy them. And when they do make them again, there will be a spectacular waiting list, just like last time.

Hell no! I'd say you might be too old for a riced up Civic with a Type R sticker, but why would you even think that for a GTO?

Cograts, BTW.

I still don't get this...however, for anyone else who is considering such cross-genre shopping, I would recommend checking out the other cars that normal cross-shopping would produce i.e. the pertinent Audi or Mercedes for the 330Ci and the Mustang GT for the Olomogato...

Pics of neighbor in the GTO?

Bending over the hood of the GTO in one of her little tennis miniskirts? Let me work on that...

Actually, I had considered the relevant Audi, Mercedes, and the Mustang GT. None of those cars visually "do it" for me. And, given that I tend to choose partly on impulse and gut feel, if they don't feel right, they don't feel right.

I'd have bought the BMW for the flashiness you listed. The GTO is just a glorified Grand Prix.

WTF.

Grand Prix is FWD and a totally different frame, inside, engine, etc... They are not even made at the same plant, let alone country.

Looking at both cars inside and out, the GTO is an entirely different car.

Can't wait for pics! I looove the GTO. You know this car is going to be a used car gem once they take it away. Everyone will realize what a special item it was and it'll be much more appreciated after it's gone. Kinda like the 240sx nowadays.
