deleted pictures - data recovery

A friend deleted pictures, also from recycle bin (windows XP). Now he wants it back.
Is there any software that's specialized for recovery of pictures?
What's probability he'll get the most back?

The files are still there but he needs to not use the pc until he can recover the files. The longer he uses the pc the less chance of getting back the data as windows will overwrite the sectors .

Remove the drive and put it in another pc as a second drive. Run windows off the first drive and use an undelete program .

If freeware doesn't work try File Scavenger, the trial version is free but it will show you what files it can recover. You have to pay for the version that actually recovers the files.
