Dell 20.1 Running HOT

Anybody else have one that is hot like a frying pan after a couple of hours of use? I have it hooked up to my PowerBook and it is almost too hot to sit in front of after watching a 45 minute tv show in VLC. It is like sitting front of an oven with the oven door open. I touch it and the frame around the top is HOT as is the top back. Even the screen is HOT too the touch. Rest of the monitor (bottom) is average. Is this normal?

Mine get pretty warm, but I wouldn't say hot. Of course they're out in the open pretty much and I have some decent air circulation in the room.

Is this a new monitor or an old one with a new problem?

It shouldn't get THAT hot. LCDs do get warm, but you shouldn't feel the heat radiating from the screen..... :Q

mine feels fine even the lcd screen.

I know they get warm but I wouldn't say hot or compare it as an oven.

I have had since last december. I never noticed until recently. I was wondering why my room was so hot when the rest of the house was cool and why it was hot around my desk. I thought maybe it was leaving a PowerMac running all the time as a server, but it isn't that hot. Then I noticed some serious heat right in front of the desk. The monitor, especially after watching a tv episode, is HOT. Not warm, but HOT. I wasn't sure if it was a known, common issue or if mine is bugging out.

mines pretty warm right now on top it's been on for awile ( bro was playing tiger woods 07 )

IPS's which you have use about 80-90W..they get hot. Thats price you pay for high brightness and high view angles... that's why they're not in laptops...

hmmm I didn't know that info about the wattage and heat seems like a good trade though. just wondering what panels do they usually use in laptops?
