No bum pixles, rev a00, a lot of backlight bleed both in the top right, two on top left, and one on bottom left. I'll try watching a DVD and see how I like it. It's really noticeable on black screens (like when you're booting).

Bleeding may be because some screens (e.g. Dell 19", some Dell 17") ship with contrast and brightness at 100%. Backing off to 50-60% in both cleans up the picture tremendously in most cases.

I'm using DVI with my 9700 pro, and the bleeding is pretty horrendous. I've set brightness.

You musta got a bad unit. I don't have any bleeding, and I have the same card as you. Mine sets brightness/contrast automagically...dunno about your'n.

Looking for second opinion(s) on whether I should make the splurge....

I'm running a 15" Eizo L365 from a GF3Ti200 in my dorm, and my computer stays in storage over the summer. Would the $800 splurge be worth the ~15 weeks of use I'd get out of it before this summer or should I hold out until the fall and get a new LCD then? I refuse to use 1280x1024 on anything larger than 16" because everything just looks too big to me. (If I had it my way, there would be a 19" 1600x1200 panel with a low response time, but a 20" UXGA isn't too bad =)
