Hey guys..
Just got my 2001FP in today and it is gorgeous! I wanna ask though...how many of you have bought them and gotten dead pixels?
Reason I ask is I have 2 dead (one on the left and one on the right, both slightly 1/4 of the way across from each edge) and I just dont see the big deal about it. the things are so small I had to get like 12" or closer to really see them and I couldnt tell you what color they are. I had to run the dead pixel program that turns ya screen solid color just to find them. Even then I honestly thought they were just dust motes! More in depth though:
1: Is this something that can get worse? :IE wake up one morning and have like 15 or 20? And if it can, is getting a monitor with them from the start a better chance of getting more to appear later?
2: Is it such a common thing (dead pixels) anyway that if I was to send it back, I might go thru 10 more monitors before finding one that didnt have any? I have read some reviews on monitors that had 5 and 6 found in a whole lot worse areas than mine.
I realize that this is my own personal preference here but I was just wondering...where do you guys draw the line? Is finding a dead pixel or 2 just totally unacceptable if it is say off to the side a bit and not in direct view so to speak? I can see getting up in arms over 5 or 6 in a small area of the middle I guess. I also noticed that newegg has a disclaimer that says 8 or more dead pixels must be found before they will take a return. This is what kinda got me thinking that maybe I should be tickled I only have 2 in an out of the way area.
whats ya'lls take on it?
thanks
