took a look, the A02 version doesnt seem as promising as announced, ill pass even though thats an awesome price

hard to justify tossing my 1901FP though, ive had it for years and its still great

good price but I do not need a dualview (or second monitor) just yet. May be used is what I'd consider.

I don't think it will ever get fixed. I mean how long did it take Dell to fix 2405 high pitch squeal? I'm not even sure if they did fix it after all (had to go through 2 RMAs before I got a good one). That's the problem with dells nowadays, they offer great prices, but quality is shaky to say the least. Every monitor starting from 2001 and up to 2407 had some major problems.

It seems like more you read forum, harder it gets to buy anything. I know every monitor I have read about, it always has some problems. I started looking at Gateway 21in, and people found some problem. Then I started looking at Samsung 215tw, and hardforum.com has so many complaints about this as well. Now, Dell 2407 has all sorts of problem. I am thinking for normal web browsing, dvd or TV watching, and occasional game playing, these montiors should work fine.

I guess I will never find any monitor that everyone agrees with its performance at reasonable cost.

I just read that the 2x07's banding issues apparently are unfixable in this monitor. Their solution was to turn off the vid chips to solve it for desktop mode only. That makes the 2x07 monitors basically boat anchors usable for straight word processing/email only.

That's a pretty expensive screen for those 2 basic purposes.
