Dell Cases

I went over to a friends house who purchased a new dell computer and installed a better videocard for him than the one that came with the system. What I really like about the system is that it was really quite and more importantly I did not need a screw driver to replace the videocard. The who case popped open pushing the two ends together and the drives, cards were all held in place by soft plastic that snapped into place. It was really cool and easy to work with. Does anyone know if I can get a case like this one out there because short of buying a dell computer I don't think I can get just a case from them.

There's an old thread about this, you might want to do a search...

In regards to quietness, anyone can build a pc as quiet as Dell's, it's all accepting a little higher temps. For the case, there are plenty of cases that are totally screwless, including the cd-rom drives, pci devices, and the case itself.

There are some cases like this.

I believe the higher-end antec models have features like this, as well as the (ugghh) Thermaltake Xaser III.

However, in my opinion for as infrequently as I replace I/O cards, I wouldn't pay the higher-prices for these cases. Drive rails are all I need

Cheapo cases will definitely not be like that. I have used a couple and they will draw blood from you. The Dell's are pretty nice because they have those rounded edges as you said and they are pretty easy to open. I saw a "new" Dell case a couple of days ago and it was pretty easy to access. Not the best cabling job, then again, who does

Dell also uses a large passive heatsink for the CPU with an air duct to the 90 mm rear case fan. It sure keeps the system quiet.

I also think they have some pretty good looking cases but they sure seem to be upgrade unfriendly. (at least when it comes to adding drives).

Does anyone know how a Dell case would perform in a overclocking situation. Is there cooling design adequate??
