Dell hits new advertising low.

I thought that was the dumbest of all of the Dell commercials he's done for them. I think that whole advertisement scheme has gotten really old and extremely stupid, and it just needs to be put to rest. Not once have I even considered buying a Dell because of them.

I can see it now, though. Later this year, in the fall, all of his advertisements will be done from a college campus where he tries to persuade other students to buy Dells. Here's to hoping he gets the boot.

I would love to live in Vancouver, it's a beautiful city. BUT, my job is here in Southern Ontario, so....

And citizens of Toronto can be very arrogant and rude. I'm glad I only go there to work. Even with such little time spent there it is corrupting my attitude.

I'm sure Steve is making a mint on these commercials, and the fact there is still a "Dude,your getting a Dell" is still going on, speaks volumes about the success and amount of additional revenue Dell must be recieving as a result of this most successful campaign.


BTW, since when does a cow get a voice that sounds like a linebacker? Cows have teats friends, and that suggests to most a more feminine voice. If Gateway can't figure that out, what makes you think it can figure out how to build you a prime PC? What kind of service can you expect from a company who trys to decieve you right from the commercial?

I think I'll stick with Dell. They build good machines that do the job. They do damn good in the server market too. The only thing is I have to compete with is a beige box, and only hobbiests are buying those now. There is no profit on trying to run a pc store anymore.. The big companies own the market now. You can't compete unless you sell amptron puke with all in one mobos. yech!:disgust:

A few points:

a) Canada does indeed get those Dell ads, a lot
b) Toronto is ass, but nothing compared to Buffalo
c) Vancouver is wonderful, but insanely expensive
d) Half.com owns the current low in advertising - attaching coupons to fortune cookie messages in some cities, I kid you f-ing not!

The worst thing is, that the ad has done it's job. IT doesnt matter to them if you liked the ad or not, the fact is that the ad has come to mind, and you hate it too.Now, the next time when a comp comes to mind (assuming you were a person that doesnt make their own comps) dell will come to mind.

Marketing 101, get noticed, however hard it may be...

Look at that buck-a-day company, ads are annoying as heck, they've been pulling in millions.
