Dell Laptop is down.

Model no.: ZE4210.

Problem: Cannot get past POST.


It gets to the standard Dell screen:

Press ESC to change boot order.
Press F2 to enter setup
F12 to boot from (boot device)

I try to get into setup or anything and it freezes.

It says "Entering setup..." and sits there infinitely.


It won't go past that screen automatically or when i press any of the 3 choices. I called Dell tech support and they said sometimes if you take the hd out and put it back in, the BIOS can recognize the HD again. This problem is in regards to my earlier thread which is located here.

I dont even get the "OS not found" screen anymore, and can't boot from any device because the BIOS is inaccessible.



I'm going to take the laptop apart now and try the HD removel trick. If that doesn't work, I am going to recommend he take it to a professional shop or send it back to Dell for repairs.














edit: update...took HD out and put it back it..works fine now. :beer:

same thing i just went through on my fujitsu notebook...make sure you dont have a BAT file in your root foldler called "deleteatreboot.bat"

i had a similiar problem on my dell laptop. someone told me while it was booting up to press FN and X at the same time. it cured mine. it makes the laptop run setup again
