not to flame...but there are already at least 3 threads about this specific phone.
Well, if there's any phone that would keep me with AT&T it's the Dell Streak, so long as it has Android 2.2 or higher. Not shockingly, it's not available here in the US (as far as I can tell). Does anyone know when/if this will happen?

Yup, with no clear way to activate it on AT&T for the discount. It's also not listed on AT&T's site as a phone you can select.
Eh, by the time I'd be able to get a new phone it would probably have 2.2.
$299.99 with 2-year AT&T contract activation. For use on AT&T network only.
You can buy it from Dell's site.
Methinks if you can't figure out how to buy the damn thing, you really don't need a phone in the first place.
Having to go to Dell's site to buy it is like having to go to HTC's site to buy an Evo: it's stupid.
Thanks. I'm glad you're smart enough to know what my needs are.

Why do you feel the need to buy a device from a service provider? Why is it any different than buying a service from the device provider? Your argument is irrational and petty.
If you want a streak, go to Dell's website and fucking order one. If not, then quit your bitching.
Actually, it's pretty creative, I'm sure Dell gets more $ out of the deal this way, and reduces the barrier to getting the device on a network.
They probably do get more $, but when going to Dell's site is the only way to get it.. something consumers aren't used to.. they won't be making any records on sales volume.
Yeah, Dell doesn't sell much at all from it's website, they're not well known or anything...
Best to go to the Dell Store, they're right next to the Apple store in the mall...
Not for smartphones they're not.
Best to go to the carrier's site, store, or mall kiosk. That's where most uninformed lemmingspeopleget their smartphones.
Good god you're a wonderful source of entertainment today. Yeah, you're right... Dell doesn't sell phones. At all. And hasn't for years...
Fixed for you. If I want to get an off-contract phone at a decent price, the carrier store or mall kiosk is probably the LAST place I'd ever go.
Yeah, cuz Dell's phones are *everywhere*
And if you ask the average consumer what Dell sells, the first, second, or third thing they say will be phones.
Yeah, cuz most new phones are sold off-contract.

Ahem, we've answered your question(s), go buy one...
