I just got my 1530 today, and i have to say that it is awesome. It only took about 2 weeks to get here after I ordered it, so delays are a thing of the past, I think.
The LED backlit screen is really great. It does get so bright that it will hurt my eyes. I compared it to my Vostro 1500's screen, and I now notice that my Vostro's screen was pinkish tinted. The LEDs make it so perfectly white and bright. It also has great viewing angles.
The whole thing is very sturdy and well built. The screen doesnt flex or make any noises when I move it. The integrated webcam works very well. It has options to superimpose hair and other effects over your face, where it will stay pretty accurately over my face. It has pretty good framerate and resolution, too. I havent tried out the microphones very much yet, but they do work.
This computer boots up really fast. I didnt time it, but it is definately faster than xp on my 1500. The finger print scanner works like a dream. If it is done right, it works every time. I can already get it to work every time I try it, and never really had to work on it. It just works.
On the negative side, I didnt realize that this was a 32 bit version of vista, so I can only use 3.2GB of my RAM. Thats not a big deal tho, since this is fast enough. Sometimes the keys dont work unless you press them a little harder than I am used to, but Im sure that they will break in. I havent noticed any other problems so far. Set up was easy, and I am really liking Vista.
Ill try to get WC3 or some other games on it soon. I hope that I have no problems with it. Overall, I am happy with my new XPS.
Oh yeah, the XPSs now ship with 3 prong chargers. No more tingling from the aluminum hand rests.
