DM is amazing.

Music for the Masses was my first CD purchase back in like 86 or 87. Bought it for a chick I was into but she blew me off before the order came in; I had no idea who they were but have been all over them since.

Seen 4? 5? concerts, every one amazing.

So jealous.

There's probably only 2 venues in the US that I'd kill a man to go to, and that's one of em.

We picked up their new album, very good music. Doesn't warp the CD case quite as bad as Violator.

I bought my first DM cassette tape in 1985 "People are People". Been collecting all their albums ever since. Attended several concerts going back to 1987. Stopped listening about 1995. I didnt like the new DM.

Anyway, heres an oldie but goodie from 1982:

Someone will call
Something will fall
And smash on the floor
Without reading the text
Know what comes next
Seen it before
And it's painful

Things must change
We must rearrange them
Or we'll have to estrange them
All that I'm saying
The game's not worth playing
Over and over again

You're the one I like best
You retain my interest
You're the only one
If it wasn't for you
Don't know what I'd do
Unpredictable like the sun :sun:
And the rainfall

Things must change
We must rearrange them
Or we'll have to estrange them
All that I'm saying
The game's not worth playing
Over and over again

depeche mode is probably in my top 20 bands of all time. They are iconic for their genre. I don't know why so many dudes feel too hard to like them, not that it matters but I think 100% of the members former or present are married with kids. They are just different.

You wanna get laid? Put on some depeche mode. Agree on the top 20 of all time.

Their music is surprisingly simple but that's what makes it so good. It masters the simple chords and keys. In terms of musical genius they are WAY up there. Who the hell can't like "Personal Jesus"?

I'd say in terms of quantity of GREAT tracks per album you'd be hard pressed to get better than Depeche Mode.

An hihg-school GF of mine back in '92 absolutely loved the song Master & Servant.

Ever since then I've been a big DM fan.

Violator is my favorite disc of theirs.

At the time me and a lot of fans were unsure of Violator. It was a huge shift in terms of sound and I didn't really like it at first. But after listening more it showed that it was one of their best. Violator was the BIG change and moved them from poppy, emo group to a serious contender in musical talent. This of course was when emo wasn't a word.
