I've got it on my work issued 4S (perk of being in IT I get certain liberties). I don't use the phone for much more than calls, emails and occasional texts. I use the calendar and reminders apps as well. Occasionally I'll load on some music and games and use the phone to play games when I'm traveling. For all of those things I am extremely pleased with the interaction.

I do notice some smoothness and choppiness issues jumping from screen to screen and app to app. Launching things takes a fraction longer to open than they do on my 5. I wouldn't notice it if I didn't have a 5, but since I use it everyday I can tell there are some slight slowdowns. It reminds me somewhat of using my Gnex when it initially came out (from a smoothness standpoint) and I am very satisfied with the performance considering the phone is nearing 2 years old. I also expect there to be a few more enhancements and modifications to the official release to help with the experience.

Are any of these users jailbroken? If they are not reliant on reverting to a jailbroken state they can always be downgraded back to iOS 6.1.3 for the 4S. I did this a couple times last night to verify.

Just my experience so far. I'll have more feedback after a day or so of use. Been mostly playing with my 5 and tweaking some of the settings to my liking.
Thanks for the report, it is much appreciated. I have unrestricted access to my phone, I just don't want to bring it back to the IT admin I work with and have to get him to fix it for me. I'd be harassed to no end. I'll just wait for the update to be official to install it.

That's crazy talk. But imessage is just like bb messenger.

That's accurate to say. What I like best about iMessage is that it isn't a separate app, it is just built into the Messages app on the phone, if the recipient has an iDevice, it will just automatically route data rather than sms.

Im gonna revert my iphone 5 back to 6.1.3. Too buggy to be functional. I'll leace the 4 on 7 for testing. Running many apps causes a reboot.

If Queen Elizabeth does not like it she will take Knighthood off Jony Ives's hands.

I read somewhere that the changes to iOS7 are possibly in preparation for an iPhone with a larger screen than the 5. For example, the whole swiping to the left/right is a gesture that would work well with wider screens, so you don't have to try and reach up to the back arrow at the top left, especially if you're holding the phone in your right hand. What do people think?

bigger screen is just common sense.
people are no longer using mobile phones for voice. they use their phones for maps, emails, photos, videos.....All of which are so much nicer on a bigger screen. it took Apple more than 4 years to figure that out.

This feature had me jealous. At least until I found out its been on Android for a long time.

Does it provide any actual useful functionality? It just seems like a way to drain more battery life needlessly to me.

It's possible. If they were to use the same screens found in the current iPad, they could make a ~5" phone with same resolution as the current iPhone. They might wait until they can double the resolution again, though. That would require a PPI of 528, which isn't much higher than some demo panels made by companies a year or two ago, so if I imagine that with sufficient capital investment, they could be mass produced.

I'm skeptical about Apple making such a move, at least within the next few years.

The feature that iOS needs badly: ability to install the google play store. That could be a game changer. That, or capability of installing iOS on a non-Apple device. But we know neither one will happen.

I cant see how either of those would work even if Apple wanted it.

Well it's running Android and it will "emulate" iOS apps, but only those apps whose developers make the necessary changes to support it.

Sorry I wasn't talking about that device, but about running the Play store on iOS. I thought you were using that as an example that it would be possible.
