Depends on how you define PC friendly.
The main complaints people have is that the combat and stealth is all based around a third person cover system, melee combat has been turned into third person single button take downs
I do mind that stuff - a lot - and I really wanted to be excited about this game. It looks like it was intelligently designed with some very good ideas - but then they throw that junk in there.
Why is it so hard to implement proper FPS mechanics? It is so much of what makes first-person the most immersive experience.
I remember the first time I played Crysis. It totally ruined me - because they nailed how I always wanted the player controls to feel.....like a real person instead of a robot on a Segway. You didn't need that third-person cover crap because you could lean and take a peak around corners....just like you would do in the real world. You could crouch and lean...even lay on your belly behind a rock and poke your head out to the side to check out the scene. I guess developers are too lazy or people just don't care.....even Crytek gutted those abilities in Crysis 2.
Maybe I'm just a first person purist. I hate automatic "take-down" commands...I hate crosshairs....I even hate when games switch to third-person for cut-scenes and driving vehicles (especially driving vehicles).
I'm still waiting for the game that provides the total first person experience - with stellar FPS mechanics (why is only one developer making a game that doesn't zoom the entire screen when looking through a scope....when you look through a scope, the only thing that should zoom is what is actually in front of the lens....genius!) AND an intriguing story with proper character development and interaction. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is supposedly on the slate to come out next year - maybe those guys can pull it off.
