Hello folders,

Well, it's 9/11, and I'd like to take a moment of silence, to honour those lost a year ago.

<silence>

</silence>
<clears throat>

Ok, not too good at ceremonies. Let's just remember that DC is about giving to the community for the good of one and all.

Ok, back to the daily.

Today's milestone makers:

dex has hit 4M folds!
TwilightZone77 has hit 4M folds!
sean2002 has hit 2M folds!

Congrats to the milestone makers!

Top Folder: TA TheMagicman with 41M!
Best RMS: TA TheMagicman with 9.45 (problems with statsman mean can't give a rank).
Best Production: TA TheMagicman with 900K

TeAm Stuff:

24.3M back of 20th, and closing at a rate of 3M/day.

Daily Production: TeAm DF continues its slide, falling back to 17th. On a brighter note, our weekly production puts at 9th, earning us a spot in the Top 9 Producing Team graphs on statsman.

Looks like a little bit of hard times for TADF.

Hopefully, it'll be short lived and we'll be back to our usual high calibre folding.

I know I'm one of the reasons the DF team slid back in daily production but I promise the DF team that I will return with power once I'm sure our SETI team can keep the BBR team behind us.

Thanks m0ti!

I have an other "bad" message.
I'm going to switch everything but the secondary CPUs of the dual CPU boards back to S@H if the gap between us and BBR is narrowing as fast as it is now.
So there will be only 10GHz of P3 power left for DF

I seem to having a problem with Distributed Folding. Ever since the newest protein, foldtrajlite.exe has been shutting down on me! It runs for a while, but then it goes foltrajlite has encountered an error and needs to close, blah blah blah. I installed as a service last night, and it still does it, the admin event log logs that the service shut down unexpectedly. Maybe I should reinstall...?

There should be a file called error.log in your client directory. Open it with notepad and see if it gives you an idea what happened. You can check the FAQs on the DF site if you find something wierd.

Only possibilities I can think of are that you selected "use extra memory" [useram=1] but don't really have the memory available. (~90M for this protien)

Or maybe, there was something that got hozed when it downloaded the new protien.

I'd probably uninstall as a service (see readme1st.txt) , delete the directory, and then d/l the client again and install as a service checking to be sure you configured it the way you want to (again, see readme1st.txt)

I wish I could help more, good luck

I've had some problems with the service install of DF on new proteins. Usually all I have to do is stop/start the service. I've also experienced problems installing the service. I know my work PC refuses to run the service. I think the error is 1067 or something.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll see what I can do. It doesn't really happen as often as I probably made it out to be, it's just annoying...

Anyway, we need to get that production up! Borrowing the words of Engineer: more... more.... more!

You won't get any errors if you don't have the 90M or so available. It accesses via virtual memory anyway, and it'll just cause some page faults which'll just slow it down. No errors though.
