Black looks sexier to me but it'll require more care than the silver one from scratches or nicks.

I'm quite curious to the htc one owners, did you guys replace the sense launcher already or are you on stock?

After owning a few Samsung devices (sgs2, sgs3, note 2) I can honestly say that I pretty much installed nova launchers as soon as I get their device. But so far I've had htc one for few days now, and I haven't felt the same urge to rip out Sense 5 and replace it with Nova Launcher as I did with TouchWiz, personally I felt that Sense 5 is a breath of fresh air compared to the cluttered interface of TouchWiz 5, though not without its faults (multitask interface, home button behavior) I generally find it fairly pleasant to use.

I've kept Sense. It's not bad at all.. not obtrusive etc. TouchWiz is utter crap. Some of the roms for the One allow you to modify how the buttons work.

How is the slo-mo video? I'm looking for a camera for recording my clean and jerks and snatches at the gym. If this will do it well I'll wait until my upgrade and not get an extra camera.

The HTC One seemed like the phone to get, but then I read about the repairability of it. IFixit it give it a 1 and it's their first 1.

I tend to hang onto my phones for quite a while so I would like to be able to replace the battery when it starts losing its charge. So, I guess the wait goes on, yet it's so close.

I've also kept sense as it's not nearly as invasive as I thought it may be.

Yup, that's why I always insisted that people who say Sense was heavy compared to Touchwiz are completely off-base. At least since Sense 4+, it's not been bad at all.

It shoots 60fps at 720p, so slow-motion should be good at that resolution. It does 30 fps at 1080p, which I wouldn't use slow-motion with if you need it to look smooth.

I haven't tried it yet myself, but I might tomorrow if I have time.

that's the consensus that i'm getting from other forums as well. i specifically asked for opinions from those coming from AOSP devices and most have stated that they're ok with Sense 5.

Did anyone order from HTC before they went out of stock? My work ordered one on the 22nd around 9:30 AM. I am trying to find out when it's going to arrive.

I saw these test shots on another site

Nice shots.

I haven't been able to get ones that good, though it's probably safe to say that's more due to my photography skills (or rather the lack thereof) and subjects:

I gotta go somewhere pretty. These where just taken on my daily commute or near my house.

If you havent gotten a ONE yet and you want it. Go to Logicbuy.com and go to smartphones. 149.99 for AT&T is 50 dollars off the 32 GB model through amazon.com. And if you are willing to switch to Sprint you can get it for 99.99 by porting your number.

Is anyone having any LTE reception issues? I have a pretty standard routine everyday, that involves a mile walk to/from the subway. I always listen to the same radio stream through TuneIn radio. On my iPhone 5, I don't think it has ever buffered in that walk. However, I can't get the stream to last more than ~1 minute on the HTC One over LTE. If I turn off LTE, it works fine but LTE buffers constantly. It says I have 2 bars of LTE, versus 4 on the iPhone (although that probably doesn't mean much).

I have tried turning off all the energy saving modes and stuff like that, and it had no affect.

My HTC One Developer Edition will arrive today. Being a smartphone noob that I am (first smartphone ever, yay!), I need to ask this:
Can I use the phone to take pictures / movie / browse (wifi) / listen to mp3 -WITHOUT- it having a SIM card inside ?

HTC gave a very conservative estimation of the delivery time, saying it would arrive on Friday when it fact it will be here in a few hours.

Yes. But why would you get an expensive phone?

If it's anything like every other Android phone (including Htc's previous phones) you can use all those features without the sim card.

No LTE issues for me. I've been getting good signal everywhere.

At least you got it, ordered my Unlocked last Thursday because they said it'd ship on the 3rd. It didn't and I was pushed back to the 23rd, so I called on Saturday and ordered the Developer one - which they said would ship yesterday.

Bet you can guess what happened ...
