I transferred my entire Documents folder from my desktop running 64-bit Windows 7 Professional to my laptop running 32-bit Windows Vista Home Premium over my home network, and if I view the properties of the files on both OSs, the number of files and total file sizes are different between the two of them. I didn't record the exact numbers, but maybe if I had 25,000 files on the desktop, the laptop would give me a number +-100 or so. The file sizes would be similarly slightly different.
Is this normal? Am I actually missing any files on one of the OSs? I've noticed this on various personal systems before when transferring large bunches of files between them, but I never really knew why.
