What is BioShock about. What kind of game is it?

BioShock just looks like a Serious Sam 2'ish game on DX10 steroids. Not that SS2 is a bad game. But it does seem to be one of those run and shoot action type FPS like SS, SS2, Redneck Rampage and Painkiller. I might be wrong though.

Forget that Crysis, with EA involved I'm not going to give them one penny until I think they actually sponsored a stable game that doesn't introduce problems instead of fix them.
Where's Quake Wars?
Also, what exactly is Alan Wake supposed to be? FPS? RPG?
Halo 2? Why'd they even bother?
Just because EA is marketing it doesn't mean that they are working on the game. The original crysis team is still the people doing all the work. After the first Farcry and all the hype over this one, I really hope they don't dissapoint.

Err.. I think your info on Bioshock is totally wrong. Bioshock is a spiritual successor to System Shock 2, which is one of the deepest FPS around in terms of gameplay. Think Oblivion (kinda) but with guns, gadgets and set in the future.
For Bioshock, the developer retains the essence of System Shock 2 but the gameplay is much difference. Never like Serious Sam.

Look at the first screenshot for Flight Simulator X, there is absolutely no way that DirectX 9 can render such a scene. It has to be DX 10, and the volumetric clouds on the second one, is also exclusive to DX 10. Not to mention that BioShock is shown in full DX 10 motion in the latest video at gametrailers. I remember that some of the CryTek developers said that so far there has been no official DX 10 screenshots of Crysis, and that all videos shown so far, including those of E3 were rendered in DX 9, that's perhaps the only exception in that thread at Guru3D, and maybe Halo 2 as well. I'm curious though ... if Halo 2 received the latest visual effects that DX 9.0c can produce, compared to the original XBOX version.

Engineering samples of G80? It wouldn't surprise me if guru3D had the ability to get a hold of some DX10 hardware.

And game code plus Visat w/DX10? Maybe hardware, but I am saying "not a chance" on the rest.
Flight simulator X was already addressed earlier in this thread and dismissed.
