One of my clients has DirecWay Satellite Internet service. I recently reformatted his computer to try and speed it up and fix an internet problem. The internet problem was that the LAN connection was always saying it was disconnected. The reformat fixed this problem and he was able to go on the internet for about 3 months. Then it happened again. When he is connected with the DirecWay the little LAN icon in the system tray says that a cable is disconnected. The only thing is there are no cables disconnected and the DirecWay is running perfect. I brought it down to my Roadrunner service and it worked perfectly on the internet. Do you have to set a specific IP address and specific DNS server when using Satellite? I know for Roadrunner you can just obtain these automatically. Could this be the problem? Any help would be awesome. Thank you in advance.
