disable sharing in Win2K

hello,

for some reason, my C drive is being shared over the network, i think.

when i right click on my HD, i goto "sharing..."
their, it says "Share this folder"
Share name: C$
Comment: Default share
User limit: max. allowed

i tried clicking "do not share this folder", then click apply, but everytime i restart my computer, it goes back to sharing the folder.

does this mean that anyone on the school network that im on, can access my HD? how can iset it so it wont share and stay that way?

The default share can't be deleted. Simply unbind Client for Microsoft Networks and File Sharing from the tcp/ip protocol that's bound to your ethernet card (and your modem, too, while you're at it).

how do you do that? sorry, new at this network stuff

*EDIT* here's what i did, could you let me know if i did it right?
i went into my "network and dial up connections" folder. from their, i right clicked on "Local area conection 2". from their, i unchecked "file and printer sharing for microsoft network",

so out of the 3 options their(client for microsoft netowork, file and printer share, and Internet Protocol(TCP/IP)), the only ones checked are the 1st and last.

Don't login as admin and check harddrive properties and uncheck sharing.

stop the 'server' service, this will turn off your shares.
