As a guy with two daughters who love it, I liked that the story is about sisters trying to help each other. And As a guy with a wife that loves musicals, I'm going to disagree with your opinion. The only problem with it is it gets played to much in my house.

Having seen Idina Menzel who plays Elsa live including on Broadway, she's an amazing singer. The composers did Book of Mormon, which is hilarious. Personally I liked how they turned the standard Disney trope of immediately falling in love on its head and how they made the prince the bad guy.

Anyway checkout the Honest Trailer for it:

I would have agreed with you except for the fact they added a really pointless guy in there as well. I have a thing about pointless characters. They would have been better off just having the evil prince and just let the sisters be the heroes. Instead we had a putz that looked like he had a point only to have them switch up and make it sisters. I personally think it's bad writing of trying to have your cake and eat it too.

Frozen wasn't the best Disney film, but it was far from the worst. Aladdin, Tangled, Beauty & The Beast, Zootopia, then maybe Frozen.

I wasn't a fan, but I don't begrudge others for liking the songs or enjoying the show. Especially if the others are, as pointed out above, girls between the ages of 2 and 10. It certainly wasn't my cup of tea though - couldn't watch the whole thing.

The story BEHIND Frozen is amazing.

John Lasseter- ex Disney employee fired by the bean counters for trying to bring in CGI animation a decade before they were ready for it- comes back to Disney after changing the world at Pixar. As chief creative officer John tackles a project that even Walt Disney himself couldn't crack-the fairytale of the Snow Queen- and the movie goes on to be the most successful animated film of all time and is the cornerstone of the rival of Disney's famous animation studio and new attractions for its theme park.

Honestly a movie about the making of Frozen would be a lot more entertaining than Frozen was.

I could never get over how different Menzel sounded between speech and song, would have sworn it was a different person.

Wreck it Ralph is the modern Disney movie for ATOT audience. It is basically Super Mario Kart the video game.

WIR was awesome. One of my favs for sure.

I didn't mind Frozen. When we took my daughter, she was mesmerized and had smiles, so it was worth sitting through it for that alone. The movie was good, Olaf cracked me up. But we made the mistake of buying the BR. And adding it to my server for instant access.

I didn't mind Frozen as a movie in general, even for adults.

And yeah, the message to kids was a heluvalot more appropriate than most Disney movies. For example Beauty and the Beast was appalling. The basic message in Beauty and the Beast is if you imprison a woman and threaten her family, she'll fall in love with you and the two of you will live happily ever after. I sat through that movie thinking WTF is wrong with the writers? Are they really that sadistic?

They didn't write the story. Even then, you have mis-read it: She volunteered to accept her father's trespassing sentence, so it's not like she was imprisoned against her will. The one using threats and blackmail against her family was Gaston: he threatened to have Maurice locked up for being crazy if she didn't do what he wanted.

Exactly. And she didn't fall in love until he started acting decently, eventually learning kindness, no longer cruel, etc.

The "Stockholm Syndrome" crowd are just... *sigh* Whatever.

Whats wrong with that? What kind of villain would the beast be if he didn't at LEAST imprison a few people?

The only odd thing about Beauty and the Beast is that in the end the villain won, and the hero Gaston died. But it was a pretty good movie otherwise.
