DIVX discs

Hey out there,

I have a question you might be able to help me with.

A friend of mine just got a stack of the old DIVX dvds... Is there any software on either PC or Mac that will let you play the old DIVX discs?

I haven't checked to see if powerdvd plays them yet... but I thought I would ask all you guys here in the forums if you have any ideas or suggestions.

No, PowerDVD won't, not without the correct codec. Just go do a google search for divx codecs and download them, they're backward compatible.

i think you may not have understood what hes lookin for. hes not looking to play things encoded in divx, he wants to play those old DRM enabled disks they sold at circuit city years ago.

yeah... thats what I mean...

as I said i have access to a stack of them... and a good selection too... it would be nice to be able to watch them if i could....

Odds are they are no good anymore. Once the disk has been played once, the data on the disc would decay rapidly. You had at most a week to watch the movie. Sorry.
