Do I have to reinstall OS?

Current setup:

Primary master (5400 rpm, ata66) has OS on it
primary slave (burner)
secondary master (7200 rpm ata100)
secondary slave (50x cdrom)

and I change to this:

PM (7200 rpm ata100)
PS (burner)
SM (5400 rpm ata66) still with OS
SS (50x cdrom)

Do I have to reinstall Windows to the new harddrive on the primary ide channel??? or can I still boot with the crappy drive that is currently the primary master (but will be secondary master)?

You should be okay. Why do you want to mov eyour boot drive to the secondary IDE channel?

You should never share HDs with CDs. Your HDs should be on one and your CDs on the other.

When you install the new drive, there will be software to move everything over from old to new. Then just reformat, erase, or leave the old drive alone and simply use it as a backup.
