here in california, you can own anything with a forward grip, a clip that extends out of the grip or body, or a clip with a capacity of more than ten rounds. thanks democrats!

first: waylman said "I don't mean to start any flame wars here, but what is the point exactly? What do you get out of owning these? I'm Canadian....I guess I just don't understand. "

To reply to that I guess it is just a hobby of sort. I don't even do that much hunting, but I enjoy shooting targets and I enjoy looking at and having a weapon like an AR-15. And if you have never taken a decked out AR-15 or AK-47 and just nuts with the thing in semi-auto mode you really should try it sometime, it is just fun to me, but I can understand why some poeple don't get it.

Second: kaizersose......I plead the fifth on that question b/c I know the CA laws . Also the stuff I own currently isn't illegal (I wonder if a .22 with a 17 round tube feed is illegal?).

No because it isn't a detactable mag. You are refering to the .22 Marlin right? Great, cheap gun BTW. I bought a used one in college that had had it's stock broken and dowelled back together, broken recoil buffers and the thing was still a tack driver. Loved that gun. Should get another one since they are >$100.

.22's are exempt. my grandfather has a .22 with a 15 round clip and it is perfectly legal. i guess they figure crips arent doing drive-by's with .22's

Nothing yet. I do plan on getting a handgun and doing target shooting with it eventually. Just another hobby to add in the already long list.

I don't believe in guns and I'm not a violent person.
I believe everything can be solved without the use of guns.
I don't see the point of having a gun in my house unless I am planning to kill somebody.

So you come home from work and find your wife/gf/mother being attacked in your/their home and you'd do nothing?

That's fine that you don't like guns. Everyone has their likes and dislikes.

But don't infringe on people's 2nd Ammendment rights to have them like our so called public servents have done.

Owning firearms is like having insurance for your car or home. You never know when you will be in an accident or your house will go up in flames but you want that insurance just in case.
You never know if your house will be burglarized or if you or your family/friends will be the next victims of a crime.

You may very well be correct, but this hasn't happened in the last 500 years.

It's tough to show up at a gunfight with a peace flower.

I'll make you a sign that says "I am a potential victim," to hang around your neck if you'd like

AR-15 (great semi-auto .223. accurate, cheap ammo, little kick, fun to shoot)
AK-47 (cheap semi-auto 7.65x??, kicks harder, more expensive ammo, but more knockdown power too -- my buddy just got one with a synthetic stock, scope, tripod for $500, what a deal!!)

I'm about to buy an AK for about 600. Milled and chromed lined upper and lower reciever, with a chromed barrel and muzzel brake. Synthetic black stock and will accept drums. Ohhhhhhh i cant wait.

BTW, its 7.62x39. Not as fast as the .223 round, about 600 ft/sec slower, but packs way more of a punch.

He probably got a stamped reciever, non-military spec gun. I would have him check that gun for wear and tear after about 10000 rounds, as something may have a crack in it. If you need any advice on an AR-15 or what to look for, feel free to PM me.

Oh, and where the hell are you getting your ammo from? I can get a 1000 rounds of 7.62x39 for about 100 bucks, as opposed to the .223 round which is 120+ for 1000 rounds. Wolf made in russia is what you are looking for.

Taurus model 38UL (my CC weapon)
Remington Marine Magnum 12 gauge with SS folding stock
Savage 110FP .308 Ultimate Varmit stock/giant el cheapo Bushnell scope
SS Ruger mini-14 Ranch
Glock 22C
Glock 26
2 Browning 22 rifles
Calico 9mm Liberty 1
AR-15 Oly lower, Bushy upper, Bushnell Holosite

I feel all able bodied folks of sound mind should own a gun...

Course, that would ruin that whole victim BS so many folks have going...

I am not a violent person.

The person I plan on killing is the person that sees no value in my life and desides that he will enhance his portfolio by exploiting his disregard for my life and the life of my loved ones.

My house was broken into. I confronted the burglar. Luckily he didn't have a gun. If he had one, I would be dead rather than having a concussion.

I don't own a gun, but I want one.

Not much any more.
I have Ruger Single Six that shoots anything from .22 shorts to .22 magnum. It is accurate as hell.
My wife has a double barrel shotgun.

I have a concealed carry permit and own a Springfield Armory V10 ultra-compact .45 I love it, wonderful piece. Very fast, accurate, and light. Ported barrel makes it a nice flamerthrower too!

My dad has a lot of guns, I would definitely recommend Springfield Armory, H&K, and most Colt revolvers. Didn't care much for Glocks, didn't like the feel/action. Maybe give em another try some day.
