Do you use Google Toolbar?

I've been using it, more than anything for quick access to Google searches and for Autofill. Today, something happened that pissed me off and I can't see a workaround (yet). I typically have several Firefox windows open and several tabs in each when I shut down my machine. When I next open Firefox, I'm given the option to restore my windows/tabs or "start a new session," and I choose the former. This morning, I canceled that window (X close button at top right) because I needed to reboot my machine to make a BIOS adjustment, and Google Toolbar automatically updated itself. When I had rebooted, I wasn't given the option to restore. So, I'd like to turn off automatic Google Toolbar updates, because I figure those will scuttle my windows/tabs.

Is Google Toolbar a program you like? Why? Why not?

I did for a very, very long time. The only reason being that I was so used to having the google search below the address bar than to the right (I'm using firefox). Then, I figured out that in firefox, Ctrl + k will send you to the search bar at the upper right hand corner. Poof, there went google toolbar, its useless to me now.

Actually, I still have it installed. I just hid everything and moved the gmail icon just to the left of the address bar because I like having that shortcut to gmail. I'm not wasting any browsing space, though.

Moral of the story: Ctrl + k, Ctrl + k, Ctrl + k!

Ctrl + k = nice. Thanks.

So, if you don't use Google Toolbar's Autofill, what do you use for Autofill? Does Firefox support that natively? With an addon?

Edit: I see a Firefox Add-on:

Autofill 0.3

I may just uninstall Google Toolbar and stick with the Autofill add-on and ctrl + k for search. I don't need a shortcut to gmail. I do have a gmail account, but I have all mail to it redirected to my usual email account with my ISP, so I don't have occasion to visit gmail site at all. There may be good reason to do so, but I'm unaware of it.

I turn it on when I'm doing some work for my website and only for the Pagerank and a couple of other features.

A lot of times i'll be looking for multiple words on a webpage and don't want to ctrl-F through the page. So i'll just type the words i want to find in the toolbar and click the highlite button. That's probably my most used google toolbar feature.

I only use the built in "bar" for search, and even then, I'm so used to just typing google.ca and searching that I never even use the built in search.

The only toolbar i use is StumbleUpon. The reason for that is i find some really cool websites by stumbling when I'm bored and have nothing better to do. I avoid all other simply because they waste valuable screen real estate and there is usually a FF add-on that will add the functionality most people are looking for in the toolbars.
