Can you just take a quick final look at this build setup and tell me if its all going to work?


Case - Cooler Master HAF 922

PSU - COOLERMASTER RS600-PCARE3-US EXTREME 600W PSU V2.5

Mobo - Asus P5N-D S775 NV750I SLI

CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad (Q8400) 2.66GHz

CPU COOL - Prolimatech - Megahalems CPU Cooler

GPU - Nvidia GTX 260

HDD - SAMSUNG Spinpoint 1TB

RAM - Kingston ValueRAM 4GB (2x2GB) 800MHz DDR2-SDRAM

Optical - LG GH-22NP20

Why are you going with a slow quad core instead of a faster dual core with more L2 cache?

I wouldn't mess with older IDE burners anymore.
Go with a SATA model, you've got plenty of SATA ports on that MB.

I'd use a 1TB WD "Black". But to each his own...

You should have no trouble checking your email, surfing the web or using your word processor.

Is that the "WD Caviar Black 1 TB Internal hard drive" ?
Also, the CPU is going to be OC'd as much as i can, the speed isnt too much of an issue.

Is it going to work? Well, as long as you plug all the connectors into the right holes it'll work just fine.

If you want criticism and help on getting the best value out of your money then we need a lot more information about what the computer is being used for.

BTW the CD burner, not the hard drive, is the one using IDE. Stick with sata on a new drive. And yes that is the hard drive blain is talking about. Best performance of available 1TB drives, just be aware it's not the quiet variety.

Sweet. Looks like a good price on the other HDD as well, i will probably go for that instead of the Spinpoint. Ill also take a look at some SATA burners.

The computer is going to be used mainly for gaming as well as all round use (word processing, MSN, browsing AnandTech), basically its going to be a main computer.
