I'm trying to overclock a Duron 750 on my Asus A7V133 and something weird is happening. I unlocked it using a crazypc.com unlocking kit, and I used a magnifying glass to make sure none of the bridges were crossed. It can run fine at 5.5 X 133 (733) and also at 7.5 X 110 (825), but it wont post at 6 X 133 (800), 8 X 100 (800) or anything else related to the multiplier. Does that mean I didn't unlock it right??? Or is the fact that I can run at a lower multiplier show that I did unlock it right?? It is an AKCA Duron, so it should be able to overclock a little bit. I would be happy with 6 X 133 (800) if nothing else, but that work work. Can someone please help me out???

Almost all of the durons will do at least 850mhz. I have built 8 systems and all attained that speed. It could be that the bridges are still not making good connections. It could be that you have a dud cpu (which I doubt). Have you tried a multiplier setting that gives you 900mhz? I do not know what type of cooling you have but mine would only go 85omhz when I had a small case. After getting a bigger case with better cooling I could get 900mhz. Now I have another duron that ran at 1ghz without any problems from fall until spring. Now that it is getting warmer so was the cpu so I backed it down to 900mhz. Usually if you can get some speeds but not others it has to do with the connection of the bridges or the fact that the cpu is a high as it will go. I think yours should go higher. I do remember reading here that some of the duron 750's are duds. Check the bridges and try again.

Well, I know it can hit 825 because I did that by increasing the fsb (7.5 X 110), but it wont do 800 using 6 X 133 . I also made it go to 770 by using 5.5 X 140. Its just weird because any mulitplier other then 5.5 and 7.5 wont work at all (Wont even post). That is why I'm thinking that I didn't unlock it right, but if it's not unlocked right, it wouldn't be able to go down to 5.5 right??? And about cooling, I'm using a Volcano II right now with three case fans. The idle CPU temp is around 37C (733Mhz, 5.5 X 133) so I dont think cooling is a problem. I dont know whats going on!!!

Sounds like one of your bridges isn't connected. Not sure which one though, If I could find the L1 bridge page again (argghhhh) then I could tell you. Maybe someone else has that link.

OK....I just took out the Duron and made sure all the bridges are connected. I did a little touch up work, and if they aren't all connected now, I dont know what the hell to do!!!! So I booted up my machine and tried 8 X 100.....no post!! So I went back to 5.5 X 133 (733). What the heck is going on? Why are the only multipliers I can use are 5.5 and 7.5??? And do you think it has something to do with the voltage or something like that??

Have you changed the voltages? Or are they changed automatically.
I have my 700 running at 900 down from 950. Mine is Hard modded as MB doesn't have options:-(

Here's a quick update.....for the heck of it, I just tried 6.5 X 133 and it works!!! I'm currently running at 866. Now I really dont understand why it wont let me use whole number multipliers, it only lets me use 5.5, 6.5, 7.5 ect. Does anyone know why its doing that??? As a reminder, I have an Asus A7V133.
