Donate to charity for free

I know this isn't a *hot deal* but it won't take long to donate to the needy.

Keep in mind, some online charities keep up to 95% of the donated amount for "operating expenses". If you want to get your money's worth, donate directly to a local school or food bank who will use 100% for the cause it was intended..

Check with your state Attorney General's office online for a list of facts and charities, and what they actually donate. Example, I live in Washington State, here are some good facts regarding donations. Click Here

That is very true and a good reason why you should NEVER donate any money to anyone who calls you asking for donations. These calls come from telemarketers who actually have nothing to do with the charity they are calling for.

Worse than that as NccOps mentioned the charity you are giving to receives a fraction of the money you donate. It is not uncommon for them to keep 99% of the money you give!

But as far as these links listed above, you don't have to worry. Yes the sites are for profit and they keep a percentage of the money from the click but you aren't spending a dime and the charity is getting something. So click away!
