Dunno if it was mentinoed but apparently christi brinkley smoked a pack a day from 14-24 and quit a year ago (I guess she is 25, or maybe it was 14-23 and she is 24 but anyway) and has emphasima <sp> ? DAMN that sucks at her age.

The ONLY People who should be smoking are those who literally lack the willpower necessary to stop. I haven't had to quit myself (so I can't say if I could or not) but I hope nobody needs more of a motivator to quit, cause its pretty nasty.

harvey I ain't as pissed as you but it makes me sick to see these commercials by philip moris. Isn't their slogan &quot;we care&quot; ? What do they care about? Bottom line. All companies do, but the last thing we need is a cigarette company pretending otherwise!

Got a nasty thing of gum disease.

Took 1 year of dental surgery appointments, and $5000 to fix.

When it was all over, the periodondist wanted to know when I was going to start smoking again, she wanted to make plans for her 3rd car.

I smoke 2 cigarettes a month. Not 2 packs like before, 2 cigarettes. Getting rid of those last 2 is awful hard though...

LOL, it was Christy Turlington. Her and Brinkly have about a 20 year difference in age.

And that show was, for the most part, a farce. It spent 2/3rds of the time blaming the tobacco companies for the irresponsible actions of smokers. The only good part of the show was the last third in which they actually focused on smoking itself instead of lamely attempting to absolve smokers of their responsibility by blaming companies and advertising.

Folks, tobacco is LEGAL. It's up to YOU to know not to use it. Blaming tobacco companies is about as stupid as the war on drugs is. BUT, with tobacco legal, we don't have vast and deadly underground gangs trafficking cigarettes as we have with drugs. Want to outlaw tobacco? Get ready for gang violence like this country has NEVER seen before. It will make drug traffickers and prohibition gangs look like 4H clubs.

Smoking is a CHOICE. No one is forced to smoke anymore than they're forced to do drugs or drink alcohol. And it is NOT impossible to quit.

I know, I'm an ex three-pack-a-day smoker, and have been smoke free for two years now.

BTW, cigarette ads had no effect on me. My reason for starting was to impress a 15 year old girl when I was 13. Yeah, I got in her pants, but it wasn't worth it.

There is no law saying tht it is illegal to smoke them when you re under 18. The law(well, at least here in VA) states that it is illegal to buy them for a minor or sell them to a minor. But there are lots of kids who smoke right in front of cops who can't do anything.
