What gets me is all the teenieboppers starting smoking because they want to be independant. That just makes me laugh, because after a few months, you're not independant anymore, you're totally dependant on your cigarettes.

I've said it before, and I'll repost it here. I have lost six friends in the last four years to tobacco-related diseases. Don't give me any crap about how they made their own choices and should have known better. I am almost sixty, and these friends were old enough to have gotten hooked as kids before there were any warnings on the packages. Even then, the tobacco killers knew their products were addictive and carcinogenic. They just lied about it, then, they kept lying about it, and they're still lying about it. :| :| :|

Now, Philip Morris puts on those sickly commercials about how friendly and helpful they are. BULLSH8 !!!! I am tired of watching my friends die! If you're as pissed as I am, there is something you can do, even if you don't smoke ==>

BOYCOTT THEIR FOOD PRODUCTS!

If you don't smoke, your buying decisions for tobacco do not influence them. However, you can deprive them of money by not buying food brands owned by tobacco companies.

I know Philip Morris has made a great show of having divested of these companies, but check those lame commercials -- The Kraft Foods logo is still there. No matter how they label the companies, they're still related to the same pockets. DO NOT BUY ANY OF THESE FOOD PRODUCTS!

Athenos Cheeses
Baker's Chocolate and Coconut
Breakstone's Sour Cream, Cottage Cheese, etc.
Breyer's Ice Cream, Yogurt, etc.
Callard & Bowser Toffees
Calumet Baking Powder

Churny Cheeses
Claussen Pickles
Country Time (pseudo) Lemonade (They really should call this a kit, instead of a mix.)

Hoffman's Cheeses
Jack's Pizza
Jello
Knudsen dairy products

Wow...that's like half the grocery store. Don't think I could stop buying all those brands if I wanted to, heh.

And I'm sorry to say it, but if you're inhaling gray smoke from a burning piece of anything into your lungs and don't think it's going to hurt you in the long run, then something is terribly wrong.

Don't smoke cigarettes. It's bad for you.

If you have the choice, don't smoke marijuana. Put it in brownies/cookies/any other kind of food and then eat it that way.

What do you people think about eating it? Are there any people out there that think that marijuana itself (not the smoking part, which is probably the only actual 'bad' thing about it) is bad?

I guess the only thing I can eat is dirt, considering they make everything in my fridge and cabinets..

BruinGuy -- If your handle means you go to UCLA, you can avoid every one of those items, and save money buying better products by shopping at Trader Joe's.

< Side Issue > Everyone else -- Trader Joe's is cool beans! Great prices on great, high quality products, including quality cheeses, wines, nuts, juices, milk and lots of other things. Are you lucky enough to have one in your area? < /Side Issue >

Smoke if you want it is all up to you. I will continue to buy my Kraft products like I always do. I like Philip Morris and wish there were more companies like them.

Thanks for the list Harvey. I didn't know I was missing out on supporting Philip Morris more than I already was. I need to revise my shopping list to give them more of my money. Got a list of products from other tobacco companies so I can buy them too?

<< Don't give me any crap about how they made their own choices and should have known better. >>

Yeah don't give him no crap because the tobacco companies held a gun to his friend's heads and they could not make their own decisions.

Yeah, (cough), smoking sucks. We should ban (cough) smoking so all those (cough) morons live a little more. (cough) All these laws we're passing are (cough) doing a lot. If we keep it up, (cough) soon we have all of these idiots we're protecting alive for 5-10 years longer than they'd live bye (cough) themselves.
