I don't get much time to play games these days. I'm both a graduate student and a new father. I typically get about 2 hours of playing per week, enough for a quick FPS run. Given that I just finished HL2, I started both Far Cry and Riddick, is Doom 3 a wise choice or will I just be dissapointed after coming off these games?

Just so you know, I loved HL2, I'm interested but not in love w. Far Cry yet and Riddick seems like fun although I'm starting to get the sense that I'm going to be seeing a lot of the same prison cells. Great graphics in all especially HL2 and Riddick.

Doom 3 was very repetitive to me. Pitch black, holding flashlight, go in room, get key, go out of room, unlock door. over and over. One thing that really irratated me was holding the flashlight by itself. I mean its year 20xx whatever and were on mars, but we dont have a gun with a flashlight attached? seriously..

there are so many mods to make doom3 a more enjoyable experience. i'd say it's worth it for $15.

I tried BF2, it blows. Go try the demo of doom3. I have both expansion and the original. I'm really satisfied w/ these games

you might need to add a preplayed game. you can grab some old sega game on there for 99 cents and save a dollar.
