Draft N wireless routers

If I purchase a "draft"N wireless router, once the standard has been finalized, will Linksys offer a firmware upgrade or will I have to purchase a new router?

No one knows for sure whether any current 802.11n routers will be upgradeable to the final version of the standard. That's not something a vendor could promise because it's too early for them to know.

Of course, all 802.11n routers will continue working fine with 802.11g. Some 802.11n routers also support 802.11g MIMO.

Atheros-based solutions are the only 802.11n routers that currently work 802.11n hardware from other companies, such as Intel and Apple. If you have new Dell Centrino notebook or Apple notebook, you probably want a router based on Atheros technology.

802.11n "draft 2.0" certiified gear is supposed to be guaranteed to be fully compatible with the final 802.11n specs. Of course whether this actually happens still remains to be seen...

Not standard means not standard. There is a reason why in the business world this whole issue is not even being touched. Not even products released.

There are no guarantees whatsoever except by marketing, and you know how well those guarantees hold up.

nope, the channels overlap too much and will interferre with each other.

You can however make your own draft, but that involves fermentation.
