Dragon+ sound: quiet w/ WinTV card

I'm using Soyo's on-board sound, and have installed the latest drivers from C-Media.
I've got the CD-ROM input connected to my WinTV card, and the other connection to
my CD-RW (using SPDIF for my primary CD-ROM).

Unfortunately, the sound is pretty low. This was not the case with my old DFI 440BX
m/b. Has anyone else had this experience? Any suggestions?

I may try some other combinations (don't use the 2nd CD-ROM connection, etc.)
Any help would be appreciated.

I removed the connection to CDROM2 (connected to my CD-RW),
and the sound to the WinTV card has improved.
I have submitted a case to Soyo to see why this happened.
I really don't need the audio connection to the CD-RW,
but it should be a viable option.

ummm ... I guess these are just two alternately shaped connectors onto the same In channel on the CMI chip. Does that mobo have an AUX connector? That would go onto a separate In channel.

If none, you can still go round the outside from the TV card's LineOut to the mainboard's LineIn.

I wish the Dragon+ had an AUX connector (my SB Live! card did).

I did use the external connectors, but the jack on the WinTV card sucks.
It cuts in & out over time -- may be heat related.
I know I could hack into the jack and tighten the connection.

I've got it resolved using the CD-ROM connection only,
and the SPDIF for the CD-ROM.
Who needs an audio cable for your CD-RW anyway?
(read: does anyone do this for a LOGICAL reason?)

If you want to listen to music while you use the (usually faster) CDROM to get some work done ... but normally you'd use the (less expensive to replace) CDROM drive as often as possible - so no music during software installs
