I recently bought all of the computer parts I needed to assemble a PC from Newegg.com. Once I received them I took to a "professional" to put them together for me (since I'm new to the scene and didn't want to destroy anything).
I took it home Friday, and as it turns out I'm having a few problems.
At first my system started up normally. I then transported my PC to my parents house to show it off. It started up normally again. Then after a short while, I restarted it. The PC powered up, but there was no display. I turned it off via the power button, and tried turning it on again. Still no display. I did this another five times, and eventually the display came up.
I took it home later and it worked just fine. Now, this morning when I tried turning it on I had the same problem. The display wont show now and I've tried it four times.
The connection from the monitor to the video card is fine. The video card itself is firmly in place. I dont understand why it is working some of the time, and other times it wont. Any opinions?
Also on a side note, my optical drives werent working, so I decided to switch them out with spares. Now, after putting them into the case and hooking them up, my OS (Windows XP Professional) wont recognize them. I can open the drives with the eject button a couple of times before they stop working all together. Any opinions on this matter?
