drive configurations

hi.

i have a 40gb maxtor hdd and a 60gb maxtor hdd.. and i also have a cd burner and a cdrom drive.. right now my settings are like this
primary master: 40gb maxtor (my os is on this one)
primary slave: 60gb maxtor (used for data)
secondary master: cd burner
secondary slave: cdrom drive

is it possible to juggle them around to getter better performance?

I would suggest putting a hard drive on each channel...therefore leaving primary master as is, but put 60gb maxtor as secondary master. then you could put cd burner and cd rom as slaves on each channel (best slave setup is debatable)
