Driver Change: Nvidia>>>ATI = ???

Hey All,

I am happily awaiting the arrival of my new Radeon X800 Pro and I would like some advise.
I currently have a 5900Ultra installed and I'm not quite sure the "proper procedure" for changing
drivers from one GPU company to another. I know that in the past not following the correct order
of uninstallation-"driver cleaning"-installation could cause degraded performance with the new card.
Is there a "NVidia file cleaner" that I should be using before I install the ATI drivers?
Any helpfull hints would be welcomed....Oh, my OS is WinXP Home....

Just follow the directions that come with Driver Cleaner above. Including the rebuilding the of the cab files. That will clean out stuff added into them by previous installs.

Proper steps: uninstall nv driver, reboot into safe mode, Run driver cleaner with Nvidia selected, Cab cleaner is not necessary but run it now if you wish, Defrag at this time while u are in safemode, Shutdown and install card, Bootup and cancel out any new hardware found messages, Install ATI driver, reboot, install control panel.

Thanks for the tips, I'll be giving "Driver Cleaner" a try once I get the new board (today or tomorrow).

I'll post my results/impressions of the new "heat"....

Also for best results disable or disconnect your internet connection before uninstalling the drivers.
