Driver needed for unknown device

I have an EPOX 6VBA2 motherboard. When I first installed it and was installing all the drivers, all the drivers needed were found on the CD except for one. The driver for PCI simple communication controller was not found on the CD. Does anyone know what this is and where I can find the driver? I need the driver for Windows XP and the driver for Windows 2000. It sounds like a modem to me, but it doesn't have a built-in modem, however it does have the CNR riser. I read the FAQ at the websit titled specifically "What drivers do I need for the epox 6vba-2", but it did not mention anything about this particular driver.

You have the modem engine (a "PCI Simple Communications" device), you just don't have the line interface riser card.
Visit BIOS, turn VIA chipset builtin modem off, and there goes that unknown device.
