Drivers for Xpress X200M

Does anybody know where I can get updated drivers for my Compaq V2710Z besides the Compaq website? The driver up there is pretty old compared to the most recent drivers for other video cards released by ATi, but I thought that X200m is the same generation as X300?

Whats wrong with the ATI Driver? Select motherboards with ati chipsets and you should be fine, they just released another update today it seems.

You can't install the ATI driver on a system unless your specific model is listed as being supported.

You can use Patje's Mobility Modder to modify the ATI drivers though. Google for it

I just installed the Cat 6.8 driver just now. It list the catalyst version as 6.7 but it detected and installed my stuff correctly.

I have a pavillion ze2308wm (walmart), its got the xpress 200m chipset with a mobile sempron processor.

Thanks Slicedbread for the heads-up: the regular Catalyst driver works!
This is just very frustrating as ATi has a separate section for notebook graphics drivers on their site but has no mentioning of the x200m - and under the regular radeon section x200m isnt listed either; it's like they're trying to avoid supporting this particular chipset.

The problem is that, for a good while, ATI had specifically removed X200 support from their new drivers. If you tried to install, it would flatly tell you that your chipset wasn't supported. You either had to fall back to older drivers, or do some ugly hacking to make the current ones "work".

I'm happy to hear that the 6.8s work properly - I'll probably install them tonight.
