Which do people prefer on here and why? I seem to have all 3 on my computer.
I have a PC desktop, and a Mac laptop. I do use gmail, so google drive is handy at times, but find myself using Dropbox a lot more. As for skydrive, I know its built into my Windows 8.1 desktop, my Xbox One uses it, but not sure if it's any better than dropbox or google drive.

So Im curious what others like/prefer here, and their reasons. Thanks

The one i use more its dropbox, can acces it from windows, debian and android on clients for all, i use to sync passwords from KeePass, photos and sync a document folder.

But i also use google drive and skydrive, mainly cause its "free" extra space, theres even some software to unify a lot of free accounts and use like one big store space. Except photos i encrypt everything else before send to any of those "spy land" of "free" storage

PS: None of them are really free, you pay on a good amount of personal privacy.

I use Google Drive the most, but use all 3.

I have 65GB of storage for Free with Google Drive due to a Promo I have, so its why I use it the most.

I refuse to use a Microsoft account to log into my windows 8.1 PC, so that rules out skydive. I even have the extra 20GB due to having a subscription to office 2013.

Anyhow I use Box.com. I got 50GB for the life of the account which is really good. So that's what I'm using. It has a very nice client for Windows, windows phone and Android app so I'm happy.

Wait so if you don't log in with a microsoft account, is it even possible to use skydrive with win 8.1 or do they just make it a lot more inconvenient?

When you try to sign into Skydrive it forces you to change to an MS account.

You can't even install the explorer addon like you would in Windows 7. It refuses to install. Also, if you navigate to the page where you would normally download the exe file you get redirected to the Windows 8.1 home page.

So no, it's not possible. I've tried, trust me

I use everything!
Google Drive in office for my work materials.
SkyDrive from home Windows 8 computer for some personal files.
Dropbox for sharing something with my friend.
And it never led to any confusion. They all work perfectly great. I see no point in choosing only one cloud storage. And you can simply use all the free space without the need to buy any additional.
All this simply require some organizing, while I use the same pass everywhere (well, almost).

Looks like OneDrive gives 25GB by default so I'm trying it out after using Dropbox (5.75GB) exclusively. I'm avoiding Google Drive as I don't want to give them personal files to spy on. Will MS spy just the same or as much?

The only thing I don't like about OneDrive so far is for my Vista machine, the windows app requires UAC to be enabled. Basically can't run the app while logged in as administrator unless that is on.

I use UbuntuOne for sharing files with others, Dropbox for syncing unimportant data, and SpiderOak for secure data. If I were to give any of them money, it would be SpiderOak. I appreciate their zero knowledge encryption.

OneDrive also delays auto-uploading pics from my phone compared to Dropbox where it's there near instantly.

Yes.

I have all three, and still can't figure out which to use for cloud storage. Also have 50GB on Box, which is nice, but I need to pick a lane. FWIW, just installed OneDrive and it syncs nicely. Too many choices.

They will: they don't encrypt your data client-side as Dropbox does. I think Google also encrypts it, but I don't know if it's client-side or server-side.

Never heard of Dropbox using client side encryption?
As far add I know Google does server encryption.

From what I recall, i don't think any of these services encrypts data on their side. Does anyone have any info that says otherwise?

however, I do know that spideroak offers encryption.

I have all 3 and prefer Skydrive. I use office a lot. Google Drive is great too and I have 75gb of storage for it. Ultimately it depends what kind of environment you're in. Gdrive is fine for casual use.

Dropbox get my #1 vote for my Mac. I might try Box for bigger storage.
