Dual 22" Screen Problems

I had been having some problems originally getting the two screens set to the same resolution. For some reason, I could not go to 1680x1050, because when I did the screen said input signal out of range.

After setting the samsung higher, like 1920x1080 it worked. It was a little large meaning the screen shifted as my mouse moved, but it looked like the 1680x1050 I was shooting for. Then I backed the resolution down to 1680x1050 and it worked.

Anyways after finally getting the two screens at the same res, I used them very excited most of the day. That is until my modeling software (Pro_engineer) seemed to be slow after opening more than two models (didn't even have then split on the screens). The sluggishness made me think maybe the computer doesn't have the umph to do the video and the figuring, so I decided to re-configure back to one monitor to see what the difference was. Anticipating I might be able rule that out as being a problem.

Here's the problem (one of many it seems):

After reseting resolution on secondary screen, both said input signal out of range. Flipping wonderful! Now I cannot get them to display using the DVI splitting cable that worked before. I had to get teh dvi to analog y cable and only plug one monitor in to be able to use the computer (originally I tried the analog cable, but one screen was missing the blue color).

So here I am not sure what to do because it seems like the graphic card is hard up on having the wrong settings, which will not display on either monitor using the DVI cable.

FYI - I did go to nvidia's site and download what I think may be the updated drivers. 162.65.quadro_winxp2k_english_whql
