I still can't see paying $1K for video alone, I mean maybe if they came out with a slave card like was mentioned in Anandtech's article, which ran for a lot less money, then it may become worthwhile, but until then, it's pretty, but not going to happen for me at least.

Someone will buy it regardless, its good press and whoever is leading the flagship race tends to also dominate the mainstream segments. a slave card wouldn't even be that much cheaper, the same problems of a big low yeild chip with lost of expensive ddr3 exist.

Question for any of ya, if it hasn't already been asked, hows the cooling of the card BEHIND the card gonna be? they look a little snug in there, all situated right next to each other.

IMO, Very nice very fast. BUT... by Fall they will have a single card solution that can do the same thing for half the price of the SLI...

They probably just duct taped the second card in the case and just used one after somehow figuring to run the benchmark at 320x240.

Amen that! Video cards are getting better all the time. I'm just gonna go for something cheap, like a Radeon 9700 Pro, that can decently play new games, and wait for the best new cards to get cheap when better ones come out.

Sure, by fall they'll have a single card solution that will be just as fast as a 6800 Ultra SLI set up, but then you can run both of the newer cards in SLI too.
