Dual Booting Windows XP and 98

Ok right now i have Windows XP professional on my C drive...i want to create a small partition for Windows 98 SE but ive been hearing u gotta have 98 first then XP ...is there a possible work around where i can put Windows 98 on the small drive and not have to totally reformat?
If so please explain how i might go about doin this? and let me know if i cant if it will work with 2000

just for starters, if you intend to use windows bootloader then C must be fat32 not NTFS!

ur kiddin!! so either way i have to reformat...cause my C is NTFS..i didnt know until now i was gonna dual boot... is there anyway to change NTFS back to FAT32...or is my only alternative Windows 2000

Windows 98 SE will re-write the boot sector no matter what so it must be installed before 2000 or XP. Unfortunately you have to reformat anyway because 98 can't exist on NTFS. After you format make sure you install 98 first. After XP or 2000 is installed its impossible without re-writing the boot sector.
