dual chanel ddr

right now I have one Stick of generic 512mb ddr 266. With ram prices so low right now, I wana get myself another stick. I'm thinking about upgrading my mobo in a couple of months though, so if i get some new 333mhz ddr (so that I have 1x266 dimm and 1x333 dimm) will i be able to use both of these in my new mobo in dual chanel mode, or do they both have to be exactly the same?

you will be able to use them both, but the 2700 will clock itself down to the 2100 speeds, so you might as well just order more pc-2100

It is my understanding that in order to use dual channel, the DIMMs have to be Identical (same make, same model, same size and speed) or the motherboard will not enable dual channel mode and simply recognize them as regular DIMMs.

Ummm... I thought that was only for RAMBUS

I thought they just had to be the same size, not the same brand. Maybe someone could clear this up.
My pc2100 is running at 2700 (overclocked). so shouldn't it work with the new 2700 at regular speed?
ie: 1x 512 2100 overclocked to 2700 and 1x 512 2700 running at stock?

i beilieve nforce2 mobos are capable of dual chanel w/ ddr. (Not planning to move to AMD though).. I hear that new Intel chipsets for 800mhz fsb chips will support Dual chanel DDR.
