Dual Channel Problem

Hi, on my new build im having a problem getting my ram to run in dual channel mode. Whenever its in dc configuration, it will freeze on the post screen, not allowing me into the setup or anything. When i run both sticks in single channel, it does the same thing. However when i run one stick, my comp boots fine and runs flawlessly. WTF is going on here. I know both sticks are good cause they can both run on their own. Is it a setting, or voltage? I dont understand why it wouldnt even boot in dual. Please someone help me. Im sick of staring at my other half of memory being wasted. BTW my setup is in my sig. Thanks...

I assume you're using the default "By SPD" timing setting in BIOS? If not, do so. If you are then more than likely you need to override the SPD memory timing in BIOS. Contact OCZ and ask them what the ideal settings are for their memory in your mobo.

Not sure if OCZ has a forum, but Corsair has one that they post recommended timings for their memory tested on a variety of mobos. Even a google search for the mobo model and the memory model may turn up something.

I have an A7N8X-E mobo with Corsair XMS memory and using the default SPD memory timing in BIOS I would get memory errors and lockups. When I used Corsair's recommended timing settings it worked like a charm.

I've witnessed (and read about) instances where single modules will pass memory tests with flying colors. But when you combine them in Dual Channel mode, they start producing memory errors in the same tests. Dual Channel is fast, but it also pushes the memory a bit harder.
