Dual monitor help

I want to connect my 2nd monitor to my video card, but when I do my monitor doesn't even turn on at all. At first I thought it was the monitor but, I switched them around and both of them worked. and Finally I thought it was the video card. Well, I installed a new videocard and I still have the same problem. I go to my display settings and windows doesn't even see the 2nd monitor. please help.

The problem is, it doesn't even show it.

Which video card are you using? You have to install the proper driver and utilities for it.

yup install newest driver

The newest videocard drivers are installed on this. I'm using an 8800gtx. Funny thing is that I restarted the computer once and windows was able to detect the monitors, I restarted the computer again now, the 2nd monitor doesn't work.

Hmm, maybe you do the 2nd monitor thing within your driver. That's what i do with ATI.
