Dual Monitor

I'm using a Radeon AIW (first Radeon) and an S3 Trio for my PCI vid card.

I have both monitors working fine if I enable boot PCI first in BIOS. However, when setup this way, none of the ATi's capture components are recognized. They aren't even loaded in device manager.

If I change to boot AGP first, everything works fine except the S3 card won't start, so I can't use second monitor.

Any ideas?

Given the price of the Radeon cards, GF4 and 2nd hand deals on the Matrox do consider getting one of these bad boys and maybe plonking a PCI TV card in there. A much nicer solution although I understand it won't give AIW functionality. Sorry I can't help to fix your problem but at least if all else fails this is an option

Do you know how to setup more than 2 monitors? (triple monitor)

I tried inserting an extra PCI video card, but nothing happens...
Only 2 video cards work... and the third one doesn't do anything.

1st video card - ATI Radeon VIVO 64MB DDR AGP
2nd video card - some old pci video card
3rd video card - some old pci video card

First 2 video cards work... shows screen on the monitor...
3rd video card..... in the DEVICE MANAGER it shows the exclamation mark on the video card. (This device is not working properly)

so tried switching the 2nd and 3rd video cards... same thing happens.....

First 2 work... 3rd one doesn't work...


Would u have any idea what I'm doing wrong here?

I don't think 2 displays can initialise on the PCI bus, so one takes priority over the other. In theory you could run 3 monitors by having a dual display AGP card coupled with a PCI card but in practice I don't think it works. I'm afraid the only card AFAIK is the way over-priced under-performing Matrox Parhelia cards, great triple display and lovely image quality but check out the prices!
