dual socket mobo for q6600?

i recall reading that apple dual socket mobo should technically support two q6600.

will such a thing ever exist or is intel preventing it from happening?

No, none of the Core 2 series will support multiple processors in one system. For that you need to buy a Xeon that supports multiprocessor configurations. Xeons use physically different sockets.
