What i want to know is when did they change the rule so that you could take 3 steps b/c you are called for travelling.

I'd like an answer to that one as well. Hell, it seems like they get 4 or 5 steps at times in the NBA. They also can stand around in the lane for a month if they want. I don't like basketball much anymore because of the way the rules are interpreted and enforced. It's almost evolved into football considering the way those guys knock each other around and yet sometimes they don't call a foul. I've seen guys bleed and yet no foul is called. It's also normal for the defense to have their hands all over the guy that they guard, but with the current refs and rules that's OK as well.:disgust:

There are questionable calls in every game. I thought the duke-maryland games was poorer ref'd than the duke-az. Duke was the better team last night.

You're right, Duke was the better team. They would have most likely won anyway, but that doesn't make null the fact that the refs were kissing their @sses.

Basketball is all about streaks. Every great coach will publically say, "you cannot blame the ref." But every one of them chews a ref out sooner or later to help their cause. The truth is that the refs can be intimidated to swallow the whistle when it counts the most. Maybe coach K. timed his criticism at the right times of the games.

Either way, the refs did the same in the Maryland game. Duke was out of the game dead to rights. Maryland had streak after streak cut short by pretty lame calls. Why should Maryland get crippled like that?

Anyone who watched that game last night can pretty well say Jason Williams had done plenty to foul out. The refs disagreed. Unfortunately the refs opinion was the only one that affects the standard called fair play.

I support rioting for the sake of a just argument; the establishment needs a dose of reality once in awhile. Getting screwed out of the basketball championship is not a just argument.
