its a pity that so many bad calls were made (intentionally?) by the refs against arizona. there werent many bad calls in the 2nd half when duke was leading but in the first half the refs were doing everything possible to trim that zona lead.

the two that stick out the most was when williams tackled gardner in the first half w/ about 8min left. that would have been his third. and in the 2nd half when arizona was surging, gardner was flying to the hoop on a semi break away lay up and was body checked by i think it was battier and no call... you cant win if the refs dont give you a chance

Duke won because of Dunleavy--plain and simple. Arizona's D was workin' all their best players, but Dunleavy just stepped up to the challenge! And we all thought Duke had a crappy bench

BS. There were questionable calls both ways, just as there are in any sports game. You can complain about the refs all you want, but the fact remains that Duke's play won the game and all the hypothetical conspiracies against AZ in the world will not change that.

the second half was officiated pretty well, with the exception of a couple very questionable calls when arizona cut the lead to 2 or 3

the first half though had horrid officiating imo

i dont know who was the better team, and thx to the refs we'll never know

That was only the second basketball game I've watched this season, and I was rooting for no team in particular. Duke got away with a bunch of sh;t!

Come on now. Claiming that Duke's money goes into the refs pockets or that the refs are going for Duke is a bunch of bullcrap.

1. Duke's money is wasted on such stupid stuff as our football team, the many, many new buildings that are built here that students don't use, and the ridiculous amount of upkeep that is needed for all the old buildings here that students are stuck with.

2. There were a lot of bullcrap calls made the other way as well. A lot of stupid touch fouls that were not actually fouls and some questionable no-calls on both sides. Saying that the one no-call that went in the first half was the big change in the game is ridiculous, as J-Will didn't even have a great game after the no-call. Dunleavy reallly carried the team, and he was never in foul trouble nor had any questionable no-calls.

If you want the real reason that Duke won this game, it's because every player that played in tonight's game had the ability to be a superstar in his own right. Thus, even though Jason was not playing a good game and the guys shot poorly overall, they were still able to hit their shots in clutch time.

Neither team should probably have been there, you are right. Neither team was held to the same standard as their opponent in the previous round. Its all about the timing of the calls. When any team playing Duke was hot the whistle went off. When they were tired the refs swallowed the whistles. That is how games are called unfair. Its subtle to the average viewer, but obvious to the trained eye.

Ok I am a UNC fan so you know how much I hate Duke but Duke was obviously the better team. Dunleavy was clutch down the stretch with those 3 3's and when you have him, Battier, J. Williams, and coach K your going to win. They were the best team.

How much has I wanted arizona to win. I say they Duke just outplayed them this game. Funny has some stars on both sides where almost no shows.

I do think the refs where calling things to closely. I rather let them play it out more.

What i want to know is when did they change the rule so that you could take 3 steps b/c you are called for travelling. Though the refs were blind to both teams traveling so it didn't really impact the outcome. Duke was clearly the better team last night.
